The Courses:

The New York Beauty and Barber Academy will prepare all students to pass their State Board examination in the particular area they choose. We give all students the foundation to build a successful career and master the art and craft of cosmetology and barbering. Our goal is to improve personal confidence and experience with exposure to a variety of clients. Class sizes will allow learning objectives to be achieved through individual attention. Expert staff from specialized areas will periodically provide advanced education all related to subject areas.

Cosmetology: 1000 Hours
FULL TIME: The full time program lasts for 40 weeks. It is split into 4 stages. Each stage will last approximately 10 weeks.
STAGE 1 – Introduction to Fundamentals (Stage 1: 250 Hours)
STAGE 2 – Basic Cut & Color Techniques, Hairstying Continued, & Skin Care (Stage 2: 250 hours)
STAGE 3 – Advanced Cut & Color Techniques, Chemical Textured Services, Hairstyling & Nail Care (Stage 3: 250 hours)
STAGE 4 – Apply your knowledge & Perfect Your Skills (Stage 4: 250 hours)

The daily schedule for the full time program is: September 5, 2018-June 10, 2019.  Hours of operation will be from 8:30 am-3 pm, with a 30 min. lunch break. Monday through Friday for daytime.

Next Class Will Begin September 4, 2019.

Barbering: 600 Hours

10 Month Program

Stage 1- Intro to fundamentals (0-150 hours)
Stage 2-Basic Cutting & beyond fundamentals (150-300 hours)
Stage 3-Advanced Cutting/Styling Techniques (300-450hours)
Stage 4-Perfect your Skills & Prepare for State Board Exam (450-600 hours)

Class Time: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. 
Saturdays ( 2 per month; start after 4 months of class) 9 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. (w/ 30 min. lunch break)

Esthetics 600 Hours:

Class Begins September 10, 2019

6 Months Program 

Stage 1- Into to fundamentals (0-150 hours)

Stage 2-Basic Facial Techniques & Body Treatments (150-300) 

Stage 3- Advanced Facials & Body Treatments, Clinic Begins (300-450)

Stage 4- Perfect your skills & prepare for state board exam (450-600)

Class Times Tuesday- Friday 8:30-3:15 for the 300 Hours

Saturday classes start at 300 hours from 8:30-3:15.

There will be 2-3 Saturday's a month, but the weeks there is a Saturday Class there will not be class on the  Friday before.
